Discover the history, culture and people of Saddleworth, the Peak District and South Pennines on our regular guided Discovery Walks . Each walk is led by Chris Maylor, an experienced guide and author of the locally acclaimed Saddleworth Discovery Walks and Oldham Discovery Walks guidebooks.

We also offer an exciting calendar of guided day walks throughout the beautiful and dramatic landscapes of the Peak District and South Pennines. With a wealth of interesting routes available, we can cater for all fitness levels and abilities and can even offer bespoke walks to those wanting to explore a particular area or engage in a challenging outing.

Castleshaw Valley Discovery Walk – Sunday 14th May
This classic walk, from the popular Saddleworth Discovery Walks guidebook, follows ancient routeways and crosses sections of open moorland, whilst offering spectacular views of the beautiful Castleshaw Valley.
If time allows, we may stop at Heights Inn for some brief refreshment.

Alexandra Park to Park Bridge – Saturday 27th May
Featuring in the Oldham Discovery Walks guidebook, this historical walk meanders its way through an oasis of green countryside hidden within the former industrial township of Oldham. You will explore Oldham’s historical past, from its heyday during the Industrial Revolution to the Second World War and beyond.
Start/Finish: Oldham Mumps Metrolink station, Junction of Union Street and Princess Street, Oldham, OL1 3TL
